Heavy Metal
The Heavy Metal Jet Team, a civilian owned aerobatic group, flies four L-39 Albatros trainers and one Canadair-made T-33 Shooting Star, painted in grey and white. They were a new addition to this year’s Canadian International Air Show.
Warthog
An A-10 Thunderbolt, nicknamed the Warthog, flies over the air show in Toronto. While it was definitely the ugliest plane at the show, it put on an impressive display of manoeuverability and sound, making a fear-inducing roar as it descended toward its target.
Trooping the Colours
A Canadian Forces CF-18 Hornet roars along the Toronto waterfront as part of the 2011 Canadian International Air Show. This year the CF-18 was painted to honour our troops’ families.
