Mill Pond.
A bench at Mill Pond, in Richmond Hill.
Cold icicles contrast against warm-looking wood.
There’s a hole in my tree trunk, dear Liza, dear Liza…
A damaged and fallen tree seemingly reaches out in all directions.
The trees of the surrounding woods cast shadows across the freshly frozen river that leads to Mill Pond.
I had to trudge through quite a bit of undergrowth to get to the edge of the river, but once there I was struck by how quiet and peaceful it was.
Fresh footprints mark a path across the frozen water of Mill Pond.
I think the message on the sign includes picnicking out on the ice.
