I wish I’d had my tripod with me this day…and my macro lens. At 250mm the slightest movement shifts the focal point and, as a result, it took me about two dozen shots to get this one.

Red Flower on White Background
Again, no idea what this flower is, but I love the contrast between it and the white background.
Purple
I’m horrible with flower names. I have no idea what this is; I just thought it was pretty.
One Red Leaf
Fall is here and it seems to have arrived very quickly this year. I suppose that’s the result of the short summer we had.
Fury
Mother Nature unleashed one helluva light show on the Greater Toronto Area last night, and with it came high winds, downpours, and tornado warnings. This is just one of many lightning pics I happened to capture over a two-hour span.
Lone Tree in Summer
This is the same tree as in my post from May 6. It’s amazing what a difference two months can make.
Lily Pad
Floating on the pond at the east end of Richmond Green, in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Another shot taken with my 500mm Reflex lens.
Lone Daisy
This is one of the first shots taken with my new 500mm Reflex lens. It’s fantastic for getting close and isolating the subject while keeping the background fuzzy, but shake is a definite problem since the aperture is fixed at f8. That means your only option for producing faster shutter speeds is to up the ISO, and thankfully I didn’t have to do that on this particular bright, sunny afternoon.
Bullrush and Bokeh
A bullrush at sunset.
Dandelion
It’s that time of year again, when dandelions spring to life seemingly out of nowhere.
