For some bizarre reason the ends of the read/write heads appear to have the image of a swimsuit on them. Bizarre!

Disk Drive
I dismantled an old hard drive I found recently in a box. This shows the read/write heads resting on one of the platters.
Blinded by the Circuit Board
While digging recently through a box of cables and other miscellaneous computer bits and pieces, I came across some old hard drives and circuit boards. I thought they might make decent macro material.
Depressing Corridor
A hallway in a downtown office building. Talk about depressing…
Rainbow Water
This is from my second attempt at high-speed photography, trying to capture the moment a drop of water impacts a larger body of water. This turned out much better than my first attempt. I isolated the water from the background and added the rainbow colours in Adobe® Photoshop® during post-processing.
Capitalism, Comrad
Found spray-painted on the back of a building in an industrial and commercial area of Richmond Hill.
Filthy Floors
Spotted on a washroom door.
Wedding Ribbon
Spotted on the hood of a silver Mercedes last weekend, at Richmond, Green where two sets of newlyweds were having their pictures taken.
Inside the DDO
I had the opportunity on Saturday night to go inside the David Dunlap Observatory to see the telescope. At 74 inches (1.88 meters) in diameter and almost a foot thick, the mirror in this telescope makes it the largest in Canada. The entire telescope structure weighs 23 tons, including the two-ton mirror, and was built in 1935. It is completely mechanically operated – no computers! – and is rotated into position by physically turning wheels and pushing buttons.
F + R
Spotted along the waterfront, downtown Toronto.
