Today is my daughter’s third birthday. My how time flies!
You see some odd things driving around the streets of Toronto. This woman in a BMW passed me on Don Mills one day and I had to do a double-take as she roared by. I also had to speed a bit (sorry, officer) to catch up and snap a few shots before she turned onto a side street.
I’m getting a bit tired of winter, and with all the sun we had this past weekend in Toronto I thought a nice summery pic was in order. Shot at Harbourfront last year.
He’s a pretty shifty lookin’ fella alright, but he also happens to be a co-worker of mine. Luis didn’t know I was taking this picture, so to make it up to him I’ll put in a plug for his website.
Okay, I don’t remember what this particular move is really called (my skateboarding days being long behind me), so I’m just calling it a Fakey. If you happen to know the real name, post a comment. This was shot ad hoc: the camera was preset and zoomed out, and I was holding it down at my side as we walked out for lunch. I snapped this without looking – just clicked the shutter and prayed for the best. Not bad!
Loblaws on Queens Quay at Lower Jarvis.
TTC: Takes Time Coming. These folks wait for a Toronto Transit Commission streetcar along Queens Quay, near York Street, on a cold, snowy day.
This is one of the first photos I shot with my newly acquired Sigma 15mm Fisheye EX lens. I just happened to wander into Henry’s Queen St. store one day and while I was waiting for someone to help me I glanced down at the used equipment in the display cases. And there was this lens! There was no way I was leaving the store without it.
